You never know who's driving or where we're headed. All we know is it's always a fun ride. Actually, hold on, we gotta switch seats because you're driving. I'm not driving today. I'm not gonna bring negative energy to the podcast. No, I don't want to hear it. But it's been a day. It's been a Monday. Today's Monday.

I don't want to hear it. I we went to market, had a great week, productive week, and you told me, thank you for going. I got so much done. It was so nice. I don't want to hear your bitch.

I did, and it all got washed away. I hadn't even told you that it all got washed away. Steven just walked in. So last week was so nice. Because for you know, I've been gone literally for all of June, except for like it was like six or seven days that I was home sporadically. And then the first half of July through the when did we get back? Like the 10th. Um, I hadn't been home. So you were gone last week. It was nice. I went, I got up one day, Sunday, the day y'all left. I cleaned out every drawer, every cabinet, every closet. It we needed a dump truck to pull up to our house. Daniel's like, are we moving out? I said, no, but we're getting this place organized.

So anyway, it was not set off a roach bomb.

Bitch, I gotta pick one up. Um so anyway, so that will, and we'll get to your market trip. But today, so today's Monday, you got back yesterday. I'm like, ready to start the week. Why Appointments Feel Like Traps

you may not. But at some point in my life, I have become appointment. Like, if I have an appointment of any kind, it can be something fun. It's it's a problem.

Right. Even Daniel Nell's like, gotta do this on Friday. Like, we all dread appointments, and that comes from being able to, like, if you're free and can, I think, can set your own schedule and set your own pace, and then you're held to a like appointment, it ruins the day, the week, the whatever.

Oh, I've got an appointment 9 30 Wednesday morning.

Yeah. Makes me just wrecks me. Like tomorrow I have a hair appointment. My hair cut at three o'clock in the you know, that easy breezy. You don't have to get up early. It's not, it's, but I still dread it. But anyway, so today I had loaded up, I had a Zoom appointment at 12:30, and then I was supposed to be at the warehouse at one o'clock for we had some company coming to the

Well Water Failure And Irrigation Chaos

warehouse. Anyway, this morning, Daniel had scheduled a pressure washer guy to come or like a house washing. I guess it's pressure wash, a soft wash now, or house, the whole outside of the house. So he showed up today, which is always nice when that gets done. We took all the furniture off the porch yesterday, all this stuff. Well, he calls, and Daniel, I think is he's off the farm somewhere. Well, he's like, My tank's not filling up. His water tank wasn't filling up fast enough. I don't know what happened, but something happened to our well at the house. And so, like, the pressure was like zero. And this is a okay, also, you got to know me about appointments. I'm pushing it to the very end to get ready. Get ready. No. So I was literally, I was like, okay, I have to leave my house. I was gonna do the Zoom appointment here at the warehouse at 12:30 because I knew that would go to one, and then the people that were coming to visit here would be here at one. So I was like, I gotta leave my house at 12. So I'm getting in the shower at, of course, 11:30. This is when this guy calls. So I go to get in the shower and it's like dribbling out the water. So this set off the whole chain of pain in the ass events and ruined my Monday. Anyway, I think we figured it out. I don't know. Somehow our sprinkler system had turned on in the meantime. But to get to this point, it had taken us all day. Daniel's been messing with it. We've called a pump guy, we called a well guy, we called all the people. But I think somehow we have a zone of irrigation that came with the farm that we never use in our front yard. But sometimes when it rains a lot or something gets wet, it turns on. There's a short in it. Like the sprinklers will just turn on in the middle of a rainstorm. I think what we figured out is that turned on, and there must be now an additional like leak in it somewhere, and it was like that was draining all the water, plus the guy was trying to fill up his huge tank for the pressure washing. I don't know. That's what I'm gonna go with. But I've been under the house 15 times. I've cleaned the filters and taken those. No, I've been out in the pasture at the pump. Was there water pressure back? Daniel said it's back. So he he unhooked that zone so that it would completely turn off of the irrigation and he says it's back. So I don't and if you're if you're listening out there, I'm gonna give you some advice.

This is farm problems when you got a well. Don't people will argue, you may argue with me. I I will never have another irrigation system put on my property if it's my choice ever again. Um it's just a pain in the ass all of the time.

They're nice, but they are a pain. So, I mean, it just yeah.

And it's really it's really not like, oh, we got there's this one system that's really nice. You don't have no No, they're all the same. They're all the same. They're a pain.

Like what I would do if I was doing one, I would only do my flower beds or landscape beds with like a drip irrigation system.

Drip, because that's easy and that's and it's easy to switch out.

Yeah. But like we have these are sprinkler heads out in our lawn. Like, we're ever going to turn that on for the weeds that grow in our quote lawn. Yeah. You know what I'm saying?

And I mean, not knocking your lawn, but I mean it's what I call pasture grass. Right.

It's not a lot of people.

I mean, that's what I grew up with. It's not like we have some Augustine, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, it's pasture grass. Like it's fine. It's weeds that we make. I mean I mean it looks fine.

Yeah, it looks grassy, but it's not I agree.

So when at my re McDonald's restaurants, if you're listening and you bought one of ours, um, you got McDonald's with all disconnected irrigation systems because I you had to put it in when you built the store because that was a McDonald's requirement. So I did it, and then I had them disconnected.

I'm like, because some idiot customer was always running over this, running over that.

Well, see, that's what I'm wondering. I'm like, in our at our house, there has to be a leak because I noticed these um this one zone was on, and this was like sprinklers, not drip. But they weren't even on at full power, so I didn't even pay any attention to it. But now to think about it, they weren't full powered because there has to be an additional leak on this line, which is eating up all the water. So it could be, you know, Daniel's like, I wonder if I ran over it with the lawnmower. Like, you know, it could have clipped a sprinkler head or something. I don't know. But you're right, they're a pain. But I would do right around my house with landscape with drip irrigation because you can replace those tubes super easy. Simple, you can do it yourself. And for my planters. Um but for my lawn, no. I wouldn't. That's what Daniel's like. Do people have the is it common? And I was like, well, it depends on where you live. Some people, yes, some people no.

In South Carolina, it's pretty common. Hang because of the heat. But you can here's the thing. You can, like you said, you can do drip irrigation, which I think is way better. You just put it right under your mulch to water your beds. And if you know you're going through a drought and you need it, you can hook up a one of the tall sprinklers in your on your lot like just for the few weeks you might need it. Right. I mean, that's just my opinion. There's people that obviously they like it.

Yeah, and speaking of irrigation, why this is such a boring topic, but we have a ton on the farm. Like Daniel, the flower farm, the whole eight acres has irrigation. So it's constantly having to fix it because you know they're also farming and rotating so something gets run over, a valve breaks, blah, blah, blah. That made me think whenever I go to Florida, you probably don't even know this because you ain't been to our Florida house in three years now.

Um, but there is always, which there they have to have the irrigation because it's sandy and keep you dry. But so the whole neighborhood, our whole neighborhood is irrigated in Florida. There, in our neighborhood, isn't a neighborhood where there's like a community like uh house or it looks like an old tiny beach neighborhood. Neighborhood. Like just beach streets. But it is a subdivision, it has a HOA and a subdivision which maintains all the landscape and irrigation. Every time I'm there, I go on to the app and I report all the leaks of the irrigation. Because I guess they do, you know, lawn people come during the daytime and they have all the irrigation running at night. Which we always walk the dogs at night and there'll be just the whole street will be flooded because there'll be a hole in the thing. I'm like, does no one else check this? I'm like, how long does this go before because I know it didn't just happen just because we were there.

Well, every time I've been at our house, literally every time, there's been something with the irrigation. Yeah. One of the heads, one doesn't come up, pop up, one just yeah it there once again.

But the one like along the road, the sidewalks, not just in our yard. I'll be like, at the corner of this street and this street, there's a irrigation break at the corner of this street.

But the one good thing about our Florida house is it's covered by the HOA. Right. So they fix it. And our HOA is um I don't even want to say I don't want to say this too loud. I just can't believe how damn cheap it is. I know. Because we have a nice pool. We have a very nice pool area. Uh we don't have a clubhouse, but it is a very nice pool area. Yeah. And we've got, you know, it's gated beach, gated pool, and all the landscape and all the irrigation. I'm I don't know how them they I don't know how the math works. Yeah, I don't either, but I'm not questioning saying a word.

A Resource For Boutique Owners

moving on. I was gonna say, speaking of a Zoom call, which I was supposed to do today, um, kind of made me think I should tell y'all about this. Not everyone be would be interested, but I know we have a lot of small business owners who listen to us and they love when we give like behind the scenes or small business. Or maybe you're thinking about opening a boutique or something like that. But the Zoom call was I do one every week, so it's not a big I ended up having to miss it, by the way. Um, is with the boutique hub. So if you're a small business, like in a retail sense, um, home decor or you know, clothing or something like that, and you are looking for like a a group of, you know, almost like coaches or something like that, you need to check out the boutique hub. We've been a member for over a year now, and there's two different versions. So you can sign up for, and I'm not getting anything from this. I just thought it just popped in my head. I thought it'd be fun to share. There's a version that's just the boutique hub, and they have Facebook groups where you can talk to other, you know, boutique owners and get ideas. But in there, they also have like a members-only website where you can download like toolkits, marketing ideas for each month. Um, they have like vendor lists where you can make connections and that sort of thing. Um, so if you are a small business owner, you should check it out. And then what I do is called Boutique Hub Black, and that is where they will help you with your advertising for Google or Meta, so Facebook and Instagram. So if you're a business owner and you're interested in that and don't know how to get started, they it's very affordable because uh they just coach you through it. So you just have like, I have a Zoom meeting once a week. We look at how the ads are running, what kind of return we're getting on them, and then they'll set up the ads and you can see it so that you can actually learn how to do it for yourself. And then the they stay on top of what is working because they're doing this for all the boutique owners. So they're seeing like, okay, this type of ad is working this week or month because it's constantly changing. So there's just a resource plug for if you need it. So look up the boutique hub if you are interested, or boutique hub black if you need help with online advertising. Very good resource. Yeah. And the ads, you know, we didn't run ads for the nested figure online store until last fall. Was that when we started running ads? We had never ran like a paid meta ad or Instagram ad or that sort of thing until, you know, last fall. Um, we had just relied completely on, you know, my social media, Instagram, word of mouth, and that sort of thing. But we just saw that, you know, we can branch out more. We can't have too many customers. So we started doing advertising and it's paid off for us. So absolutely. Little little plovery there. All right, let's get to tell us

Market Week Wins And Body Pain

You know, we had a really um good week. I think I have I think I have crossed over that my I'm I'm starting to think my body is just said to hell with it. He's not gonna stop. So I might as well just quit hurting.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Because I got there and I was kind of a mess. My back was hurting, my shoulder, you know, I've had a lot of I always have back problems, but I had a lot of shoulder pain. I was like, oh my word. And that's the worst, too. It just went away. Oh it just I don't know why it gave up. I think I broke it. And and I and then I came home, and I don't know if you can tell a difference, but I'm not like I came home and I wasn't like needing to check into the hospital.

Yeah, you seemed rested this time. You had a crazy busy week. Crazy busy week. Crazy good. I wonder if you ate better. I wonder if you've gotten rid of some inflammation in it. You know, like I wonder if there's a lot of people. Okay. So I mean You know what I'm saying? I was just like, I wonder if it's inflammation that went away or something just from could be bloat or just general. I feel like sometimes I Do I look less bloated?

There is something, and I haven't been able to determine what it is to this day, but there is something I can eat from time to time, and I just blow up. And it's not like, oh, you just had a lot of salt or something. There is, I'm convinced there is some thing something.

I th MSG does that to a lot of people too. I mean, I think there's some preservatives out there that that gets people.

Um I don't I I really I I I think I think my body just said, what the hell was just gave up. I think it just said he's just not gonna stop.

Well, that's good. Well, I'm glad you're not in pain.

Yes. Not not in pain. And um, yeah, I mean, it's so nice, but I try to be careful. I did not carry anything.

Yeah, he does use that. I gotta watch my back. You gotta carry this for me.

Well, I don't really even have to say that anymore because you and Dylan are like, oh, for God's sakes, let me get that. So because I never know. I mean, it could be picking up.

I'm just I do try to look out for you and say, Don't do that, I'll get it because it's a bad it's worse hearing you moan for four days that my back's out.

You can't say a word. I listened to you for two years. You did. Oh God, that was missing. I'm gonna have to have surgery. But scheduled and then got out of it. I was aren't you glad you didn't? Yes. Oh my god.

Health Anxiety And The Lipoma Scare

But so since we're talking about that, we can go ahead and talk about something else. But I recently had an MRI for another issue.

So last week you said you weren't gonna talk about this until last week. I wasn't ready. Okay. I had a very traumatic week last well, the week before last week.

When we were on vacation. The week before when we came back from vacation. Last week, yeah. Yeah. So um, but I had an MRI. We'll go, we'll get to that. But coincidentally, um the radiologist looked at my spine. Oh, yeah. In my vertebra, and everything is very looks very good and healthy. Lined up and not deteriorating. I think I think all my issues are muscul muscular. Yeah.

You need to get a trainer again.

Remember when you did I didn't have problems when I go when I have a full-time when I go full time every week to a trainer, I have no problems.

It's true. Think we could go together, get a two for one.

Probably. Yeah. I mean, it's really not that bad. You know, you know, and I've tried I g I always get the badass ones because I'm can be very manipulative because I'm the boss. And I'm used to being the boss, and I like being the boss. So when I hire them, I always say, Don't let me be the boss. Yeah. Because I'm really good at it. They're like and I'll manipulate you, and they're like, Okay. So I hire them so they'll be hard asses, and then they're really hard.

Are they like pump those weights, you little bitch?

Kind of. One time I pulled, one time I said, one time I pulled that, oh my god, I can't, I can't, I'm gonna throw up, which I really thought I was gonna throw up. Uh-huh. And that that SOB went out a trash can. He said, it won't be the first time somebody threw up with me. Knock yourself out. Oh, I thought, well that ain't you're not very nice. So when we were in Vegas, I was gambling, and Dylan, uh Dylan is always petting on me, rubbing my back, which I you know, I'm like that. That's really nice. Well, he was rubbing my back and he was like, You have a terrible knot. Well, I always have knots in my back.

Like under your right shoulder blades.

I always have knots, muscles that are knotted up, usually lower back. But he said, Well, he said to Wesley, was standing there, he said, Fill of this knot. And Wesley felt of it in like a dumbass said the wrong thing.

I was like, that's not a knot. That's a tumor. Okay. Well, first of all, I knew when you said it. As soon as you reacted, I knew I was like, shit. Why did I say that? I even told Daniel afterwards, because he doesn't know. I was like, oh God, poor Dylan. Like, he's gonna hear this the rest of the like, this is gonna ruin Steven's trip now. Because Steven has very much medical anxiety. Is that what you call it?

Yeah, it goes with my OCD, but it's it's uh it's not even a jokeable thing, it's like horror. Horrible, horrible like health anxiety.

As soon as I said that, do you think it is? I mean, as soon as he got up from the table, because that's all he could think about, he was immediately chat GPTing this knot on his back.

It is the size of a small marble. It's two inches in diameter.

It's like a golf ball. It's big. Like a half of a golf ball sticking up, kinda.

But the other half is in there.

But mushy, kinda. So even when we were alone like after on vacation, I was like, does Steven get over his? He was like, Dylan was like, oh, he was up to like four in the morning researching his thing. And I was like, ah, that's sorry. Because I knew he had to deal with listen with this.

But it was, I mean, it was good, I knew. Yeah. But you know, before we left California, I called my doctor and I was like, I think it's serious. Everything's serious. And um I said, but I I thought because my shoulder was hurt, I had it kind of logically figured out. So I wasn't freaking out because I thought I had some bleeding from my shoulder because it it turned black. And I thought, oh, it's like an edema, you know, and it settled. Yeah. Which it will do that. I was like, okay, this makes complete sense. And I was like, you know, it may have to be drained. So I went to see her on Friday, the day after we got back. We got home at 12 30 in the morning. I was in her office Friday morning. That fright same morning. Yeah.

And she said, this isn't a this isn't an edema. This is um, I think this is a lipoma. I think it's just a fatty tumor. I don't I don't have any reason to be worried about it. Um, we can just watch it and sit on it. Stephen's like we can watch it come out. Yeah, I said, hell no. I said, we're having, let me tell you what we're doing. We're having a CAT scan done today to verify this. And then we're scheduling a surgeon. Yeah. She's like, okay, we can do that. I was in the cat in that day getting a cat scan. No, you got uh uh not a cat scan, ultrasound ultrasound that day. Well a whole different office. I was like, how did you get them to move this quick? Oh honey, I can make shit happen.

If I I was like, they would have told me we'll have your your uh what you set up. No, the scan, the what did we just call it? Ultrasound ultrasound. Damn. I said they would have told me your ultrasound will be in six to eight weeks. Stevens is in like 45 minutes across town. How fast can you get there?

So I went and um felt pretty good about the whole thing until the damn radiologist report came back and then it said, We I think it may be a lipoma, but it doesn't look normal. Yeah. I recommend it.

So y'all know what that did? Caused the whole thing. So he was already dead. I I was like in the middle of all this.

In the middle of all this. So literally the next day, I'm in a tube for an hour getting an MRI. Yeah.

So now Yeah, and that was the other thing. You got okay, so you got your um your little scan thing, your ultrasound. You got those results. They kind of told you right then, but then you got them really back like two days later, like Tuesday or Wednesday. Thursday, he's getting the MRI. I'm like, how did you make all this happen?

He's like, I can I listen, me and my trusty phone, I can make if you got if you need if you need an appointment, let me know. So um, so it came back confirmed, you know. I mean, they'll still biopsy it, but it it is a lumpoma. So um, oh I had the sur I had the surgeon set up.

So I tomorrow or Wednesday next week. Yeah, you're going to just as just a pre-op, right? Just the date. He'll probably talk.

I bet you can talk him into doing it those to Wednesday afternoon. No, no, because we're going to Florida. I would. I probably could have made it happen because I then, but see, then I had another obstacle. I didn't even tell you this. Oh, God. So Tina, friend Tina, she said, Well, I think you need to use a cosmetic surgeon. And I said, Well, that's not gonna happen. No. I said, It's on my shoulder, it's gonna be fine. You're 50. But then she's but then she said, Well, there's just a lot of muscle in there. And then, you know, that gets me. Then I got I said, Okay, so let me look this surgeon up. I don't know. I do not know one, I don't think I know one general surgeon. Yeah. Anywhere. I don't know a general surgeon. Well, this is a general surgeon. I was like, then I got to thinking, oh God. So I look him up. Can't find anything bad, but I'm still like, I don't know. I don't know. Oh God. So then I call Tina and I'm like, I gotta figure out, I gotta, I gotta get, you know, the deets on this surgeon. You gotta get connected somewhere. Before I go, like, if I need to get another surgeon, I will, but it's gonna be general. Yeah. And she said, Well, what's his name? And I said, It's this weird name. I've never heard of him. And she goes, Oh yeah, we know him. Oh, it was our he was our neighbor. I was like, Okay, is he capable? Is he she said, No, actually, that's I would trust him to do it.

So it it worked out. So I feel good about it. I was just saying, if you go on Wednesday and he's like, Well, we could just do this right

Needles, Fainting, And Dental Sedation

here, real quick. You need to just go ahead and get it done. Daniel did his right in the office. I know, but I have to be You don't have to be put under, you don't need to be prepared. It's on your back.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You'll be good to go. No, don't you? You won't have to worry about it. I'm not doing I'm not being awake again. No. I fell for that with hair transplant. Well, that's different. No, no, and no. I cannot be awake and be cut on again. No. Nope, noop, nope, noop, noop, noop.

Nope. I had that growth on my face, you know, that scar tissue develop. And when I went to the dermatologist and she was just talking, she's like, Oh, yeah, like that's just scar tissue. And she's like, they just did a little shot that didn't even hurt, and she was just talking to me, and then she's like, Okay, I'm done. I was like, I can handle that, but it's the cutting. Uh you won't know. You I do it.

I had my head cut from ear to ear. Don't tell me. I know exactly what it's like.

Your head is different because you were hearing it in your head. It wasn't you weren't feeling anything. Nope. Propofol me up, baby. I mean, it it won't be. You're gonna make it so difficult for something simple. But I don't blame you.

I'm just I mean, I yeah, I would rat. Listen, that is the best sleep I've ever had, is on that propofol.

So Daniel had a lipoma, so if they're called He has, yeah, he's had two, right? No. Well, he had one. He thinks he has one now. He said he might have one now, but and it was like on his stomach, and he was like the same way. He's like, I just want it out because it was just like a little lump. Well, he went to check on, they're like, Oh, we can do it right now. He's like, Okay, and they just did it right then. But he almost fainted too when he was there. No, that was he did faint. So so Daniel has there's a condition called it's a reaction.

Like a needle or something will make him pass out, and not in a scared way. I guess it's the body reacting to the needle. Like so, anyway, like he went one time, there was like a cyst, I guess you would kind of say, it was a cyst on the back of his neck, like a hair had gotten there, and then it was a cyst, and then it just stayed there for a while. So he went to get that, you know, taken out, drained, whatever. And when they gave him the shot, he passed out from it. But he's passed out from Botox. Like he has to tell them, like, anytime there's a needle involved, like, hey, I may pass out. And sometimes he doesn't. And now he's like, you know, he we get Botox, he gets Botox, no secret there. Um, and he gets that what, like every three months. So he's like, it doesn't hurt. I'm not scared. He's like, but it will just It doesn't bother me like that.

I just He's like, sometimes the needle just hits and then I just pass out. I was all up for being awake, like when I got my hair transplant, because she's the the thing with that is it was eight and a half hour long, and she was like, you can't need to you can't we can't keep you she's like first of all, it's not healthy for you to be put under for that kind of period of time. And second, we need you more agile so you can move and you know, because you could you know, they're cutting you here, and then they're poking holes here, you know. It's and I so I I had I was fine with it, but after doing it, I'm not signing up for that again. I know that it wasn't it didn't hurt, it just made me sick. It be it was gross, it was very gross to me.

And I said, Well, I went down there, but that fat bitch like chastised me every time I went, and I just quit going because she was so nasty to me. Years, which we appreciate. Yes. And if you recall, remember when his Mercedes got a ding in it from a rock gunshot. He says a gunshot. It was a gunshot. And I said, I'm not sure. The body shot said it was a gunshot. Dang's a piece of crap now. Uh-huh. Guess what's getting traded in tomorrow? Tomorrow. That piece of crap is a great car. I'm a little I'm a little bit more. You know, they got it fixed where that gunshot was, and then it bubbled up again. Had to be fixed again. It had to get fixed again last week. So that that was it. Second chance, and your ass is out the door.

You gotta drive the convertible Mercedes. Well, here's the punishment. If you don't do it, you gotta drive the white delivery van that's what the Ronald McDonald. The Ronald McDonald van from 2000 and like 12 or something.

Here is what I've discovered about myself. You know, it's taken me a long time. I used to drive always like, well, even when you met me, I always had a sports car, pretty much. And I I I don't like a little car. Right. I just realized it that car bothers me because it's a long car and you think, oh, there's room. Yeah. There's not any damn room in it. Like you can't and your ass is sitting on the ground. You've getting too old for that. You cannot put a suitcase in that car. I mean, I'm I'm like You can't. A suitcase will not go in that car. Well, it's kind of nice. We enjoyed driving that car like to Florida and stuff, because you can take the top, you know, it could be fun, but hell, you can't get you can only go for two days because you can only carry two pairs of panties. You can only get one Louis bag in there, not two. And you can't shop because you can't get it back.

And when I bought it, we were living in our small bungalow downtown and just had the retail stores. When I moved to the farm, I was like, okay. I ended up driving our delivery van for like a year because we were, you know, redoing the house and hauling stuff. And I was like, I gotta get rid of this car. Yeah.

And it and here's the truth. In South Carolina is too hot.

Yeah, but going back, it was a convertible. Well, you think, oh, I'm gonna put the convertible down. It's gonna feel good. It doesn't feel good. It never feels it feels good about four days a year. Two in the well, then see the problem is in the spring, you got pollen. Can't take it down. Can't leave it down because the inside of your car turns water.

Or you can't drive it with the top down and you won't be able to breathe for two weeks.

Right. So you get maybe four nice days in the fall. And that's it. And you're good to go.

So it might be North and South Carolina, and we would go, you know, and that's still not that many people because there's not that many owners. Yeah. So we would go to a resort, a smaller, not upscale resort. And um, for several years, we went to the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island, Florida. Yeah. And I just I I thought that was just the dreamiest place. Of course, you can't enjoy it when you got all those McDonald's people there. You know, it's not just up your ass. What's she doing? Where are you going? Let's have DNA. He had four drinks last night, blah, blah, blah, blah. But anyway, I I kept saying, telling Dylan, I was like, it's just a I just remember it being a special place. Right. And and you know, when you haven't been somewhere in 20 years, I'm like, was it really special? Right. Or was it not? And so we went several years ago. The first time I was third year in a row to go. No, we didn't go. This is be our second. Um this is your third time going. This is our third.

Um, I'll tell you if you go in season that Ritz-Carlton is astronomically expensive. So use save your points, use your points. But if you just want to get away off season, it's it's reasonable.

But there's a lot of antique stores and vintage stores there, and they were they had them all listed out, and it was like you can do it in a day. So we're gonna do that for a day. Just like do lunch and just go to junk stores, little day trip. Yeah, just get out and just different, relax. Dylan will love that. He will, he will now. He at one time he would have been like he's come around with

Art Buying Addiction And Live Sales

that. I know, and he he thinks he's an um it's it's almost comical now. He thinks he is an art curator now. Well, y'all have been doing amazing with art, and uh You can't tell him he he he is he is almost ready to open art gallery, I think.

Well, that is such a turn of events because Steven has always had an art, I don't know, addiction along with his coffee table book. So he'll buy art, like when we're at you know, high point market, there's vintage and antique dealers. It doesn't even have to be that. Anywhere we see art, he's gonna look at it and he'll buy the most random pieces and he'll stick them in his closet under the bed. Where do you put all of those extra pieces?

Oh, we have so much art. It is it when I kick, Dylan will be able to have a massive sale over there. I have I have it all, I'm having a loft built inside one of the closets to hold art. Oh, you are going to um I just feel like it's the best place to store it. But um, and I'm trying, I'm doing, I'm doing some gallery walls, so I'm really trying to use more of it. Like I'm gonna just I'm gonna do our laundry room floor ceiling.

Because why not? Why not? So Stevens always love art, he always picks it up. He's got plenty of extra pieces if you want to borrow something from his collection. You should do rent rental art. I don't know. You could do like curated rental collections of art. And Dylan has always please don't get any more art. Stop buying art. If you're gonna get a piece, you gotta get rid of a piece. Yeah. Real negative. Until the last year, this year, 2026, he's gotten into the art. Yeah, he's got because y'all started going to the art warehouse where we buy for our um retail store, and we've started buying more, and it's original art, so they're all different.

And I guess going in there and seeing all the different he's developed a flavor of you know, of his own yeah, because you know, art is so subjective, and and every, you know, everybody has a different feeling with different pieces, and it's it is addictive. Yeah, I mean it because you can look at a piece and it can make you feel a certain way, so that's why you're just drawn to it. Right. And then you're like, ah, yeah. Even you, you've never been an art person. And it's not you in.

Yeah. So Steven and Dylan, this has been because that is Steven's department for our retail store. He's been going to this art warehouse with our art dealer, um, who we've been getting art from for years and years and years and years, but he's recently started making more trips. I guess you were like, we need to stock up on art. I'll go to the art dealer just randomly. And it all sold in our retail store. So you were like, Oh, let me go back. And it just kept selling. So you just kept going back. So it's made it's put you there more often, and Dylan goes with you, and then that's gotten him. So then that led to this past week, you did a live sale from there from the art store, and it huge success. People loved it. And I was watching it as well, just like a viewer, and I was, you know, helping on the backside. But I was like, I could watch, I don't know what drew me into it, but I was like, I could watch them flip through art all day long. Like it was just soothing. I don't know, and then it's pretty, and then it's cool to see.

So and it was, you know, I I have the best framework here in Greenville. You know, he's done a lot of uh everything in your house, he's done. Um because all of my art Steven also picked out. And I take when he gets a piece, I'm like, I'll take care of this. Yeah. I mean so um David's done everything in your house. I mean he treats it as an art in in and of itself. And I think I would love doing something like that. Here's the problem. What frame it? Uh uh. I mean, and that's technical.

No, and that's expensive, expensive pieces of molding and stuff, and I'm like, well, that would never work. Because I'd be like, uh, this looks about right. Yeah. And like cutting would be.

How about one giant piece? I would take a giant piece. Because you know it could go all the way. Because I've got something in mind. Okay.

I was like, okay, well, I told Stephen that day at market, you're gonna pick this up when you go in July. It's somewhere on the way between Greenville and I'm paying your ass back for that one.

He said, Oh, you can pick that up when you're in Atlanta. And I was like, Yeah, okay. Do you don't realize how big those lamps are? So you went to the warehouse. Are they? We've already sold two. Well, there you go.

It's amazing. It is so cool. Um, I literally for a second thought I was in China. And the owner is so nice um and so enjoyable to work with. Yeah. So um, I'm planning a field trip with some of our designers to take down there. Well, you need to do a live sale there. I uh maybe, but oh my gosh, I'm embarrassed how expensive they are, but it is what it is.

And um, because I want everybody to feel comfortable and not, you know, not everybody is gonna buy a twelve hundred dollar lamp. Right. But you've got people that that's what they want and they're gonna get it. And then you've got the people that are like, well, I want that look, but I want it for 300. Well, we've we have that too. Right. So, you know, I mean, it was fun. I I dug through there. I bought more. I bought more than we needed to buy, but I just couldn't help it. And Dylan was not helping. He was, well, what about this? Get this. What about this? It's so pretty, the pieces.

I love the chinoiserie in small doses. Like in like in my house, I would have a couple of pieces. Pair of lamps. Yeah. And maybe a vessel or container or a base or something somewhere. I don't like like some people will do kind of like a whole theme around it. I don't like that, but I love the pieces. And then some of it doesn't even have the chinoiserie pattern on it.

It could be solid or just plain pottery, Chinese pottery that's beautiful. But yeah, um, and we kind of gave them a little glimpse of it, but I was like, oh my gosh. And it went on and on and on. And I said, Oh my, I I you know, I don't even know what to say. And he said, Well, the crazy thing is, is I have a shipment coming. We're getting ready for it. And it was, yeah, it's it's like it's kind of like the art warehouse. Yeah, I got some um I got sticker shock on a few things that I fet that I fell in love with. I was like, well, we're gonna take it and sell it. There you go. Somebody else is gonna love it just like I did. If you fell in love with it, someone else will sweat it. I said too.
